HERE are Mike de Kock’s runner comments for the meeting on the Vaal’s Classic Track on Thursday, 22 October:

RACE 1:
“Lagertha comes off a rest, has some ability and we’ve done enough work with her, she has an eachway chance, she is capable.”

“Jamaheery needs further, but is also one that has shown us a measure of ability. If the pace is quick, she’ll be running on, so don’t leave her out of the Quartet, she’ll be staying on late.”

RACE 3:
“Al Aasy has been working well, he is a temperamental type of horse but has a certain amount of ability. This looks like a weak field, he is capable of winning first time out.”

RACE 5:
“Fire Flower comes off her Maiden win and has a stiffer task today in an open handicap, but she will enjoy the trip. She has eachway prospects.”

RACE 6:
“Kokeshi,
like Fire Flower, will enjoy the extra ground. She was just a bit outpaced over 1600m last time, still rallied well to win the race and that was encouraging. You have to include her in exotic bets.”
