CHAMU Mabaya and Thomas Ncume, regulars in the De Kock yard, both rode winners at last Saturday’s Turffontein meeting for Work Riders.

Lady’s Knight.

Chamu, who rides plenty of work for the stable, scored in Race 7 on Mike de Kock-owned Lady’s Knight (Gary Player Stud), a colt by Bold Silvano racing In Mike’s own knightly silks. They beat Ncune, who flew up late on Alec Laird’s runner Horace to get second.

Ncune, whom our readers will know as a regular handler of Mike’s horses in Dubai, won Race 2 on Two Guns, providing young trainer Stephen Lerena with his first career winner.

We are proud of our horsemen, they make a good impression everywhere.
