CHRISTOPHE Soumillon brought the fancied six-year-old Baroot with a strong finish to win a $60,000 Handicap over 1800m on turf at Meydan last Saturday.
This was the lightly-raced Baroot’s fourth win from 16 career starts and he’s been a soldier for owner Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum.
Mike de Kock commented: “With this win Baroot now qualifies for Carnival races. He’s a typical late-improving Dubawi and perhaps he can earn at the Carnival too.”
