EMERALD Resort & Casino pulls out all the stops at its Emerald Cup event, especially when it comes to the entertainment on offer. This year the Cup will take place on 27 September and will feature South African artists like Lonehill Estate (headline photo, museonline.co.za), Daniel Baron and Lloyd Cele.
“As the sponsor of the Emerald Cup since inception, we have always managed to secure top notch entertainers for the day, and this year will certainly be no different,” says Marli Wolmarans, Media and PR Manager at Emerald Resort & Casino. “Combined with a variety of activities for kids of all ages, the day is set to be a memorable one for the entire family.”
Lonehill Estate burst onto South African radio in the same year as the Emerald Cup was first run, with hit singles “Girl on a Roof” and “Skyward”. The band has received airplay in the USA, Germany and Japan and have been invited to perform in the USA and Switzerland.
Daniel Baron is an award-winning, chart-topping singer, songwriter and performing artist with an astounding eight radio hits off his debut album “It’s Time”. Other achievements include opening for Bon Jovi in 2013, winning a Wawela Music Award for Best Male Artist and Composer and was nominated for Best Soundtrack in a Feature Film or Theatric Documentary.
Lloyd Cele has enjoyed success as an entertainer after being announced as runner-up in SA Idols 2010. Lloyd’s sound is about embracing South Africa’s diverse culture, racial groups, and musical influences and fusing them together.
The day will include picnic sites, a beer garden, food stalls and a play area for kids. Entrance is FREE. Gates will open at 11am.
