The bookmakers appear to feel the Zulu Kingdom Golden Slipper for two-year-old fillies over 1400m is a two-horse race between the De Kock stable’s Alboran Sea and Carry On Alice. The former won the Grade 1 Allan Robertson Championship at Scottsville by 2.25 lengths while Carry On Alice was runner-up in the Gold Medallion.
However, Alboran Sea is drawn No 1 while Carry On Alice will have to jump from barrier No 11.
Unbeaten Afrikaburn has been priced up 5-2 favourite to win the Durban Golden Horseshoe. He is highly regarded by the Dean Kannemeyer yard and has the advantage of having won over the course and distance.
Guiness, who beat Carry On Alice in the Gold Medallion, is next best at 9-2 with third-placed One Fine Day at 5-1.
