WESTERN Winter filly Tayba and her regular partner, apprentice Julius Mariba, made it four wins in a row when landing the Sandy Beach Stakes over 1200m on the dirt track at the Vaal on Saturday.
Three of the four wins have been recorded at this course, where she is unbeaten and sure to post a few more this season.
Tayba tracked the leaders into the straight, racing on the outside of runners, and cruised up to them approaching the 500m-mark.
Mariba gave her an easy ride – she literally raced along and quickened in his hands – but the race was over as a contest at the 400m-mark and Taybe drew away to win by 3.25-lengths from Formation and Follow The Piper, the formidable sand specialist.
Tayba was bred by Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum and races in his silks for Al Adayaat (South Africa).
