TIGER Ridge colt, Tiger Right (black, red silks), ran strongly to win on his first visit to the racetrack at Scottsville on Tuesday.
Tiger Right, ridden by Anthony Delpech, won by half a length from Jamal and looks like a type with scope as he was impressive despite the small winning margin.”
Winged Foot wins.
Mike de Kock commented: “It’s easy to get excited about a nice debut like this, but we’ll have to test Tiger Right against stronger before we make an assessment. His maiden field wasn’t strong.”
Tiger Right is owned by the partnership of Mike himself, Jessica Slack and Noeline Malherbe, Chris Haynes, Gary Grant, Dr John and Amanda McVeigh and Mary Slack, representing the Wilgerbosdrift, who bred the three-year-old from the mare Fair Enough, by Model Man.
Slack also bred and owns Right Approach filly Winged Foot, a one-length winner of a MR72 handicape over 1600m on the same afternoon under Delpech.
Mike said of this three-year-old: “I liked her a lot when she started racing but she lost her way a bit and it’s good to see she’s back on form now. She can win more races.”
