GALILEO filly Mahbooba (photo, blue cap) will be racing at Newmarket, UK, on Friday, in the Aqlaam Godolphin Stakes over 2400m.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa’s four-year-old takes on six others in this Listed contest and Mike de Kock commented on Thursday: “Mahbooba is very well and we’re expecting her to stay the mile-and-a-half and to put up a good performance.

“Her last run was a bit flat, she needed that outing and she’s been making good progress at home since.”

Jockey Pat Cosgrave, who has been riding most of the work at Mike’s Newmarket base, has been booked to ride Mahbooba, who is quoted between 6s and 7s in the early betting market.
