THREE-year-old Imbongi made it two wins from three starts with a 4.5 length success over Herod The Great in Race 4 over 1600m at Turffontein on Saturday, 15 September.
Imbongi ran on from several lengths off the pace to win his 1200m debut by a short head and Mike de Kock wasn’t sure what to expect second time round in a stronger line-up.
“This was a competitive field and we weren’t sure how he would handle it, but he obviously liked the extra ground and won very well. There is more in the tank for this one, and he’s given me a nice line on some of our other three-year-olds,’’ he said.

Bekker was pleased with the way in which Imbongi win and commented: “He is an easy ride, he switches off in a race, which is always good for horses who race over ground.’’
