Say It Loud attracted some market support before her 1200m debut at Scottsville on Wednesday, her odds were trimmed from 4-1 to 3-1, and she showed her promise with an eye-catching win.
Say It Loud looked like she’d done it all before. There were no signs of stage fright as she she jumped well, settled into stride, contested the pace and then quickened away nicely to win by two lengths under an easy ride from Craig Zackey.
Zackey said: “She got a flyer out the gates, she helped me and did all the hard work. She got some cover, today was for her to strengthen up and learn what it’s about. I think Mrs Slack has a lovely filly on her hands.”
Say It Loud won with her ears pricked and Mike de Kock commented: “She has ability, she did it like a real pro.”
Bred by Cheveley Stud, Say It Loud was a R1 300 000 purchase from the 2023 National Yearling Sale. She is a daughter of Gimmethegreenlight and the Western Winter mare Skylar Lane.
