A most suitable win

It was most suitable that champion jockey elect Richard Fourie won Race 6 over 1800m at Turffontein on Sunday aboard Trois Trois Quatre.

The Hollywood-owned son of Rafeef was named in honour of Anthony Delpech’s 25-year-old record of 334 winners, equalled and bettered by Fourie last week. This was his last meeting for the season in Gauteng.

“My agent said this will be a very cool story one day. I rode Trois Trois Quatre last time and learnt a lot from him. All I wanted was a true run gallop. That’s why I like racing in Johannesburg. The speed was true and the race worked out for him. You have to ride him a little bit cold. He wanted to lugg in last time, but in the straight today I went in. He was cantering alongside them going through the 400m.

Assistant trainer David Lhamine said: “He was showing proper work. I discussed it with Richard, we weren’t worried about top weight and everything went according to plan. Thanks to the Hollywood Syndicate for their support.”
