Anathi Feni scoops the loot!

Our stable employee Anathi Feni (22) has won the 2022/3 Work Riders Challenge Series, following a super double at the Vaal on Tuesday. He scooped R5,000 for accumulating the most points on the day and R25,000 for winning the series. Anathi will receive a trophy at the 2023 Highveld Racing Awards.

Mike de Kock said: “Anathi is the son of Shorty Feni, one of my anchor men in Dubai for 15 years or more. Anathi himself ran away from school to come to the stables as a boy. All he wanted to do was ride horses. And there you have it!”

On The Guest List, nice Maiden win.

He rode On The Guest List (Gimmethegreenlight) to a well-deserved first win in a Maiden Plate over 1800m. She races for Arun Chadha’s ASSM Syndicate and Mike de Kock believes she can win again.

Anathi also booted home the solid staying type Mambo Come Tesio to post his Maiden win over 1800m for owner Winston Chow. It’s a case of the further the better for this gelded son of Mambo in Seattle and Mike is looking forward to trying him over 2000m and up.

Mambo Come Tesio, promise as a stayer.
