Nyali Beach (Gimmethegreenlight – Front Club), got her Maiden out of the way under a good ride from Anathi Feni in a Work Riders Plate over 1450m on the classic track at the Vaal on Tuesday afternoon.
She raced just off them, travelling smoothly, and was produced at the right time to run on and win, despite a late challenge delivered by stablemate Last Wild One.
“Nyali Beach is well bred and she had some useful Juvenile form from last season coming into this race. She’s matured as a filly. This was just a Work Riders Plate, but I think she is capable of winning a race or two more at handicap level,” said Mike de Kock.
The runner-up was doing her best work late and is another to watch.
