Barak kept staying on to win. (Pauline Herman).

Master Of My Fate-gelding Barak was too strong and too fit for the opposition in the R175 000 Listed Port Elizabeth Gold Cup over 3200m at the Fairview Turf track on Friday.

He finished strongly with Greg Cheyne in the saddle to secure victory for the Alan Greeff-yard.

It was only Barak’s second start for the Greeff-stable. He was formerly trained by Mike de Kock who is a part-owner of Barak along with George Ragunan and Noeline Malherbe.

“It was a no-brainer sending Barak to Alan, who has done the job for us time after time,” said Mike. “For Barak, it’s always been a case of the further the better.”
