Desert Miracle.

Desert Miracle.

Desert Miracle unfortunately pulled up coughing after Saturday’s G1 SA Fillies Classic over 1800m, found to have bled. She finished fourth to Rain in Holland, fading late, beaten 4.5-lengths.

Mike de Kock reported: “We’ll give Desert Miracle a three or four month rest, she’ll go to the farm where she will run out and recover.

“It’s hard to form an opinion now on whether Desert Miracle stays or not, she was ridden the way I wanted, coming from off the pace. She moved up well to a point, but the coughing/bleeding was probably the reason for her weakening over the last 200m.”

Mike said that Clafoutis, who was up with the pace in the same race and faded right out, choked up in the running and might need to race with a tongue-tie.
