We’ve just finished a ‘Brazilian’ week at MDK and Blue Stables, writes stable representative MOHAMMAD MARDOOD.
We were visited by a Brazilian delegation lead by His Excellency Gilson Machado Neto, the Brazilian Ministor of Tourism joined by Mr Magno Malta former Brazilian senator, Mr Helio Lopes a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil, Mr Carlos Brito, the President of Embratur, Mr Silvio Nascimento the Marketing Director of Embratur and Mr Rafael Haubert who has pioneered the popularity of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in U.A.E .
The Brazilian delegation came to Dubai to attend the EXPO 2020 Dubai. They visited the Brazilian Pavilion where they witnessed an increase of interest in their country, having over 335k visitors since the beginning of the fair.
The visitors were MDK’s and Blue Stables special guests, H.E. Mr Gilson and the Brazilian delegation were introduced to MDK’s team, owners and 2021 Dubai World Cup Carnival squad. His Excellency has a lot of interest in horses as he owns a number of horses in Brazil. He shared many topics with MDK regarding horse investments and breeding in Brazil where there are vast beautiful lands to nurture top class race horses.
MDK also shared his memorable stories of Brazilian-bred thoroughbreds he trained, his visits to the Brazilian horse sales (Sao Paulo & Rio) and the support he received from Brazilian breeders. He also reminisced about winning the UAE Derby on the Dubai World Cup night in 2004 with Lundy’s Liability (BRZ) owned by Stud TNT and Mrs Mary Slack.
