Three-year-old Lilliana, who showed marked improvement in her second career start, enjoyed the mile on the classic track at the Vaal on Tuesday and won a good race, drawing away by two lengths for replacement rider, Warren Kennedy.
Mike de Kock said: “She was galloped into quite badly and that she won shows that she’s got some mettle to take note of.”
He added: “She’s by Vercingetorix from a Galileo mare and one would expect her to go well over further, so she’s one to watch because there is improvement to come. She’s a nice, progressive filly.”
Lilliana races for the partnership of De Kock Brian Riley, David Abery, Charles Savage and Wehann Smith. She was bred by World Wide Bloodstock.
