WE took two runners to Durban for Gold Cup Day at Greyville and both earned a stake from wide draws with very promising runs.
Bold Act finished fourth in the G1 Thewini Stakes over 1600m, drawn 8/9, and ran on best of all for Craig Zackey in a race where the early pace was slow. She’s a lovely filly for Mike Destombes, smart and on the upgrade and we’ll be looking to win a feature with her this new season.
Our sprinter Al Sakeet is top class, a G1 horse we’ve decided to keep out of the handicaps for now – we took a chance from his 12 draw in the G1 Mercury Sprint and he showed his worth with an excellent second in big company, beaten under half a length.
Al Sakeet is another we’ll be expecting big runs from, this coming summer.
