IN Limbo, the full-sister to Hawwaam and half-sister to Rainbow Bridge and Golden Ducat, exited the Maiden ranks with a workmanlike success over Bright Eyed Girl over a mile at Turffontein, Saturday.
In Limbo kept on gamely after coming to the front with 350m to run and looks like she has more improvement to come as she matures.
“The stars aligned today,” said Johnny Geroudis, who saddled the three-year-old in Mike’s absence. “Today would have been the wedding anniversary of Bridget and the late Chris Gerber. Bridget owns this filly in partnership with Mary Slack, just look at how this has worked out.”
Callan Murray, who got two lengths clear on In Limbo but then had to drive her out to win, late, commented: “She was well this week and I’m glad her Maiden is out of the way. She moved up comfortably from a plum draw, then looked to make a bit of heavy work of it, but in the end she still won quite nicely.”
Mike de Kock said from Dubai: “Well done to all, especially to Bridget. We were all very fond of Chris and racing still hasn’t recovered from his tragic passing.”
In Limbo is by Silvano from champion broodmare Halfway To Heaven.
