Nartjie, not squeezed too hard,

THREE-year-old Nartjie posted a quick win for his partnership of owners at Turffontein on Saturday, having made good improvement from his debut, and enjoying the standside track.

RACE 3 TURFFONTEIN STAND, MAIDEN PLATE, 1600m

WINNER: NARTJIE
PEDIGREE: 3chG Vercingetorix – Narjis (AUS) by Galileo (IRE).
BRED BY: Al Adiyaat (Sheik Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum).
OWNED BY: Wilgerbosdrift (Pty) Ltd (Nom: Mrs M Slack) and Messrs M F de Kock, C Gordon, C S Haynes, C H Savage and Mrs N P Malherbe.
JOCKEY: Gavin Lerena
Lerena comments: ‘He settled down nicely, made nice improvement. Well done to all the owners!”
Mdk comments: “It’s nice to have a horse with a fun bunch of owners, all friends. We had a tickle and enjoyed the win. We were fairly confident. We shouldn’t get excited just yet, but he does look progressive, he’ll be a fun horse for the partners.”
