THE 2020 renewal of the highly popular CTS Ready To Run Sale will be conducted online this year, in conjunction with gavelhouse.com, who hosted the ground-breaking farm sale for Klawervlei Stud in June. They produced a superb set of results, have an impressive international database, a tried and tested online platform, and a professional management team in support.
The date for the sale has been moved on by two days from its original Friday, 27 November, to Sunday 29 November 2020. The Ready To Run sale will be immediately followed by a Mixed sale, online.
Grant Knowles, Bloodstock and Marketing Director for CTS, commented: “We felt that this would be more suitable for our potential buyers, as Sundays are historically the best days for sales. The vendors have been informed, they have given us their support and we look forward to a word-class event.
“We have all had to endure testing times in recent months, but there is a newfound positivity in the industry. To this end, it would be remiss of us not to place on record our sincere gratitude to MOD and the RTT for all their efforts in securing a safe future for our wonderful sport. We look forward to rebuilding the future with all of racing’s key role players.
“The announcement regarding a much-needed stakes increase already suggests that we are heading in the right direction. Adrian Todd remains confident that the EU virtual audit will take place in the coming months. This will have an extremely positive outcome for future sales.”
Knowles said that a number of changes have been introduced in order to assist vendors in lowering their sale costs and to promote broader participation from the marketplace.
The changes are as follows:
Andrew Seabrook, Managing Director of New Zealand Bloodstock, who owns gavelhouse.com, commented: “Gavelhouse South Africa is delighted to be partnering with CTS in the upcoming Ready to Run and Mixed Bloodstock Sale. We were thrilled with the success of the recent Klawervlei Stud Sale and are committed to growing online sales in South Africa.
“It is amazing how online sales have taken off internationally and there is no doubt that this form of selling will only become more popular in the future. Gavelhouse looks forward to marketing the sale extensively to its international clients scattered around the world.”
