WE introduce you to our staff, in this lockdown period:
NAME:
Alson Ndzilana aged 43 and born in Umtata Transkei
FAMILY:
I am married to Noni and have six children.
HOW MANY YEARS HAVE YOU WORKED FOR MDK AND WHAT DO YOU ENJOY ABOUT WORKING HERE. WHAT IS YOUR POSITION?
I am an assistant trainer and have been here under a year. I am enjoying the stability of a good job in a top yard. I have so many things to say why I enjoy it here and hope to prove myself.
GIVE US SOME DETAILS OF PAST EMPLOYMENT AND INTERESTING STORIES WHILE WORKING FOR PREVIOUS EMPLOYERS:
I started with Piet Steyn in 1994 as a groom. I then started with Joey Ramsden in 1998. I slowly worked myself up the ladder there and became an assistant trainer. With Joey I travelled a lot with the horses to Port Elizabeth, Durban and Johannesburg. I enjoyed my time there and managed a lot of famous horses.
NAME A COUPLE OF YOUR FAVOURITE HORSES:
Tara’s Touch was one of my favorites, she won a group one at Greyville and the Cape Guineas. Attenborough and Conglomerate were two others that I trained. They were top horses and I enjoyed working with them. Out of my favorites here, I like Queen Supreme.
DO YOU HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE YOU CAN REMEMBER THAT WAS A HIGHLIGHT IN YOUR CAREER?
I worked with top horses and have a few highlights. I won the July with The Conglomerate. Winning the Gold Challenge with King Of Pain was also exciting. And then winning the Computaform sprint with Attenborough was a big highlight.
