HERE’s Like A Panther, winning a Maiden Plate for three-year-olds over 1600m at Turffontein on Thursday, racing in the hands of Callan Murray.
The stable has taken a bit of time with this one but, Like A Panther, he has the potential to sneak up on this season’s classic contenders and pounce at the right time.
“He will have more to do, didn’t beat much today, but he’s a horse that shows us ability and I’d like to say he has feature potential, we’ll be watching for further improvement,” said Mike de Kock.
Like A Panther is owned by an illustrious band of owners including Bernard Kantor, Mayfair Speculators and US-based Justin Casse. He’s by Captain Al from a mare by Galileo. He was a R2,2-million purchase from the CTS Premier Yearling Sale in 2016.
