HERE are Mike de Kock’s comments for his runners on Vodacom Durban July Day, Saturday:
RACE 3: Betting World 2200 (Gr3)
“The Centenary is in good form, she was baulked for a run last time and unlucky not to have run in the first three. She is not to be ignored here.”
RACE 4: SABC Gold Vase (Gr 3)
“Kinaan is well weighted and has enjoyed a good prep. He is going for the Gold Cup, has eachway prospects.”
RACE 6: Durban Golden Horseshoe (Gr 2)
“Hakeem is a nice horse and we’d like to see if he measures up here, whether we should keep him going for the mile on Gold Cup day. He needs further but has a shout. Naafer is preferred of the pair, though he will have to come from a 14 draw and that will be very hard. His prep run wasn’t perfect but you can draw a line through, he is better than that. Horses often run below best first time at Scottsville.
RACE 9: KZN Yearling Sale Million
“We’ve got a nice horse here in Well Connected, but he’s drawn 14-14, this is a winnable race but he will need plenty of luck.”
