RISING star Al Sahem will be joining Mike de Kock in Dubai for the 2018 Dubai Racing Carnival. His trainer Sean Tarry confirmed this morning that a Dubai campaign had been mapped out for the Silvano colt and that owner Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum has placed him at Blue Stables in Dubai next year.
Al Sahem, who finished second in the first two legs of the 2017 Triple Crown and then redeemed himself with a massive win in the Gr1 SA Derby, was awarded Champion-Three-Year-Old Colt and Champion Stayer at the RA Awards earlier this week and there will be many more accolades if he can pull of Saturday’s Gr1 Daily News at Greyville. He also holds an entry to the Vodacom Durban July, for which he has been priced up 13-2 second favourite.
Betting World has Al Sahem at 18-10 for the Daily News and Tarry said: “He is in good shape, he has come on since his Derby win and he will be travelling to Durban on Friday. Our natural concern is whether he will be suited to Greyville, this is always a factor.” – from Turf Talk.
