SUYOOF (AUS), unleashed a powerful finish for jockey Jim Crowley and won Thursday night’s Al Naboodah Kaeser Compressor Trophy over 1400m on turf by a neck from Bravo Zolo with stablemate Tahanee just a short-head back in third. (Headline photo by Andrew Watkins shows Suyoof on the left, Tahanne in the middle).
This was a fourth win from eight starts for Sheikh Hamdan’s imported son of Magic Albert and Crowley said: “”He’s a lovely horse and you can place him anywhere, he has pace. But seven furlongs is his minimum trip, he just got there.”
Mike de Kock said: “Suyoof is at his peak now and in good form, but there no races left for him this Carnival. We’ll put him away for the 2018 Carnival and we’ll have a nice horse to race with next season!”
