AN alert-looking Ertijaal (AUS), and groom ‘Shorty’ Feni on a cloudy Friday at Sha-Tin in Hong Kong.
Sheikh Hamdan’s four-year-old colt is in fine shape for Sunday’s Audemars Piguet QUE II Cup and while he is in proper Gr1 company and he is drawn wide, he’s a horse that’s coming into his own and he has a top big-racer rider aboard.
“Trevor Brown and Shorty have done a great job with Ertijaal, it’s up to the horse and Dougie now,” reported Mathew de Kock on Saturday.
He added: “The weather prediction is for heavy rain but the track drains well so hopefully it won”t be a problem. We’ve been well received here as usual, the sponsors and the jockey club have been very hospitable.”
The race is off at 16:35 HK time (thats 10:35am SA time) and will be flighted on Tellytrack.
