THE Centenary has won six of 18 starts over five different trips, but staying is her strongest suit.
The Centenary bagged the Listed Spook Express Handicap over 2450m at Turffontein on Saturday, following her win in the Gr3 Yellowwood Handicap over 1800m last October.
“”She’s versatile, she quickened well off a slow pace,” said Mathew de Kock after the race.
The Centenary is only four, relatively lightly raced and Mathew added: “We could possibly pick up another same-sex feature race with her in due course.”
Owned by Winston Chow, The Centenary is by Mastercraftsman from a mare by Montjeu and she was well handled by Randall Simons, riding his first winner after a two-month injury and in our headline photo sporting a smile that goes with it.
