HERE are the stable’s runner comments for Classic Day at Turffontein, Saturday, provided by assistant trainer JOHN BUCKLER
GR3 PRETTY POLLY STAKES, 1100m
Intriguing Lady got left last time but she’s also looking for a bit more ground. We’ve put blinkers on and that should sharpen her up. I think she will run well.
GR 3 PROTEA STAKES, 1100m
Janoobi has improved since his win. He is looking for a bit further but he’s showing nice work.
GR3 JACARANDA HANDICAP, 1800m
Ahlaam has been a little disappointing. She’s been pulling in her races so I’ve taken the blinkers off. She is drawn wide which is not going to help.
GR1 WILGERBOSDRIFT SA FILLIES CLASSIC, 1800m
Persian Rug is a nice filly but she’s looking for ground, probably a bit more than 1800m. I think the SA Oaks will be more of her game the way she runs. We will race her handier this time and hope she can stay on. Noor is doing nicely and is putting up good work. We hope she will run well. On work she is probably the better of the two.
GR1 SA CLASSIC, 1800m
Muwaary need his last run and has improved at home but this is a star field and we’d be happy with place money. Suyoof raced too handily last time from a bad draw. He’s drawn wide again but we intend to drop him out and let him run on.
