GREEN Street Bloodstock’s founder, Justin Vermaak (27), has been appointed to the Board of the Western Province Regional Racing Association (WPRRA).
This is in line with the body’s progressive dynamic policy of introducing younger blood into the game and follows the resignation of longstanding Director Tom Fowler, after nearly 15 years of unbroken service to Western Cape Racing.

The WPRRA, an arm of the Racing Association, specifically looks after the interest of members and besides Vermaak now consists of Chairman Vidrik Thurling, Robert Bloomberg, Vaughan Marshall and Nancy Mitchell. Thurling and Bloomberg also sit on the main Kenilworth Board, chaired by Chris van Niekerk.
Vermaak, who also has a high-profile position at Maine Chance Farms and is a regular form analyst on Tellytrack, commented: “I am excited and honoured to join the Board.”
