ANTON Marcus brought his talents to the party riding two winners, two seconds and a third for the stable at the Vaal on Tuesday. Marcus booted home a winning double for Sheikh Hamdan of Dubai on Janoobi (Race 2, 1100m) and Emaar (AUS) (Race 4, 1600m).

Janoobi, a R1,2-million purchase at the Cape Premier Yearling Sale in 2015, put daylight between himself and the opposition, winning his second run after lacking experience when beaten on his debut recently.
“Janoobi is a good sort, he could be Group material,” Mike said about the Maine Chance-bred colt by Silvano from Shasta Daisy, by Rakeen.
It was harder work for Bernardini gelding Emaar who finally got it right, winning his Maiden at the eighth attempt. He got up by a neck under a driving Marcus ride and Mike said: “He’s probably got another win in him.”
