SIX-year-old Zahee contested the Listed HH The Presidents Cup over 1400m at Abu Dhabi on Sunday and almost pulled it off for Mike de Kock and Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum.
The New Zealand-bred has been out of sorts of late, but he appeared to enjoy a decent pace on a tight track and ran on well from a wide draw under Wayne Smith, beaten a neck by Paul Hanagan’s mount Ghaamer, who races for Sheikh Hamdan.
The photo finish below shows Zahee (No 10, nearest camera), closing fast late.
