SIX grey horses are presently stabled at Mary Slack’s Abington Place at Newmarket, Mike de Kock’s base in the UK.
Here is a photo sent to us by assistant trainer Steven Jell and includes (from left to right): Sir Bob (the stable pony), Happy Valley, Santa Carolina, Majmu, Liquid Mercury and Marigold Hotel.
On the photo below, Liquid Mercury and Sir Bob are joined by Ace, the stable’s lil’ grey dawg. If we were to add the greying photographer, that makes it eight greys at Abington Place, maybe a record of sorts?

Wishing you the best of luck with your grey ‘armada’. To me a grey racehorse brought lots of luck. ‘Petrus’ named after a famous French wine, cost less than nothing, and won us quite a few races in France and quite a bit of money.
