KAHAYLAAN enjoyed a bit of extra ground racing in a Maiden Plate over 1950m at Scottsville on Sunday and he won a good race for jockey Muzi Yeni.
The three-year-old colt by Silvano from a mare by Domedriver had uninspiring form coming into the race with three unplaced runs over shorter, but Mike de Kock has always said that most offspring of the champion stallion need a bit of time to come into themselves. This seems to be the case here.
Kahaylaan has a low 64 merit rating after this win for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum’s Al Adiyaat, but don’t be surprised if he improves more with maturity and gets to the winner’s box again soon.
