MIKE de Kock has withdrawn three-year-old Gr1 Cape Derby winner Ertijaal from the list of 2015 Vodacom Durban July contenders.

Ertijaal has encountered some minor problems in training and Mike commented on Friday: “We’ve picked up a couple of niggles with Ertijaal and I’d rather rest him now with a long-term view to Dubai. Patching him up and pushing him into the July makes no sense and represents a short-term view.

“We’ll get Ertijaal right in the next few weeks and he will be travelling to Dubai for the 2016 Carnival.”
