THE team members at Belmont Park in New York are enjoying the surroundings as much as the horses in their care.
Trevor Brown and Lisa Moncrieff took Umgiyo and Mubtaahij for a walk around the historic, tree-lined racing centre yesterday.
Mathew de Kock reports that everyone is in high sprits and that the De Kock runners have settled in beautifully and are doing very well.
The Gr1 Belmont Stakes over 2400m is scheduled for 6 June.
The Secretariat Memorial, with Umgiyo in the background, taking a look at the legend.
Their forthcoming races won’t exactly be a walk in the park, but Umgiyo (left) and Mubtaahij are loving Belmont.

I’m sensing Mubtaahij writing some new pages of history at Belmont on 6 June.
Glad to see both are fine and enjoying Belmont
I never have been their but always looks special on t.v.
Mubtaahij looks to be doing very well leading up to Belmont
Does the distance of the race and the surface of the track worry you or not

Great to see young star Irad Ortiz has been named on Mubtaahij, he knows the track well. Hij has the right running style for the Belmont, (stalker). Past winners of the Belmont have been running 5th early in the race, and close to the lead at the top of stretch. By the 1/8 pole in comes down to endurance and heart. I hope HiJ has that since i think i just talked myself into a win bet on him. See you at the winner circle.
Sorry if this is a repeat. But I would like to know if Umgiyo will be racing soon.
