A progressive colt by Dynasty put the stable’s first 2015 success on the board at Turffontein’s Inside Track on New Year’s Day.
Alghadeer, a three-year-old owned by Sheikh Hamdan, enjoyed a short break after winning his Maiden over 1700m at the Vaal at the end of November. He stepped out in a MR80 Handicap over 1800m and won handsomely under jockey Weichong Marwing.
Alghadeer, who was born from a mare by Aristis and raised at Gary Player’s Karoo Stud Farm, fetched R375,000 at the Cape Premier Yearling Sale in 2013. He’s been somewhat under the radar up to now, but the way he dealt with the rise in class showed that he is a talented sort who could make his presence felt this year.
