CAP Thoroughbred Sales (CTS) will conduct the inaugural CTS Johannesburg Ready To Run Sale at the Inanda Club, Sandton, on Friday. This will be the last chance buyers will have to get in the running for the R2.5m Emperors Palace Ready to Cup in 2015.
There are 146 lots catalogued from 37 individual sires that includes some racing royalty from the last four sires of the year in Australia in Redoutes Choice, Encosta de Lago, Exceed and Excel and High Chaparral.
In addition, all the leading local sires are represented as well as freshman sires like Visionaire, Warm White Night, Rock of Rochelle and the ill fated Bankable.

Lot 78 the only Western Winter in the catalogue and the last of his progeny. A Colt from the family of multiple group one winner Yard Arm.
Only one Warm White Night in the catalogue Lot 143 out of Red Dragon. The Fresh-man sire was a sales topper at the recent Cape sale with Lot 20 going for R1.1mil while he averaged R275k from his 8 lots
Summerhill’s Freshman sire Visionaire is well represented by 23 lots from some highly credentialed mares.
Variety Clubs sire Var has only Lot 76. The dam produced 8 x winner Go Indigo
Lot 146 is the only Trippi catalogued. Trippi produced the sales topper in Cape town with R1.5m Lot 2 and averaged over R400k from his 8 lots.
Lot 125 is the only progeny of champion sire Silvano. A filly from the family of Lostin-translation.
Lot 108 is a filly by the Champion Australian sire Redoutes Choice who has sired 24 G1 winners and stands at a stud fee of just under R1.1m. This is a filly from the same family as 2 & 3YO Champion Australian Filly, Miss Finland.
Lot 132 is a filly by twice Champion Australian Sire High Chaparral who stands for R600k. It’s the first foal out of the NZ mare Prime Choice from the same family as HK multiple group one winner Helen Vitality.
Lot 82 is the chestnut filly by champion Australian sire of 2012-13 and 2yo sire sensa-tion Exceed and Excel who stands for over R1mil and is the sire of 9 individual group one winners.
Looks like this well-related filly can ‘fly’!
Lot 10 the filly by Captain Al is out of Scented Samantha the dam of HK star Sweet Sanette and SA stakes winner Franny.
Lot 28 the colt by Rebel King out of Sweet Natasha the dam of 8 to run, 5 winners including Princess Sassi and Secret Obsession.
Lot 58 is an own-sister to G1 winning 2yo Bilateral – by new sire sensation Lateral.
Lot 67 is a filly by Kahal out of the smart mare Dancing Lady.
Lot 70 the filly by Parade Leader comes from one of South Africa’s better female lines that include; Donatella, Della and Senor Versace
Lot 73 by new sire Bankable the international winning sire is a colt out of multiple group one winning mare Discover Diamonds.
Lot 75 is a half sister to the very smart The Elmo Effect and out of Dream Starling who has had 7 foals all winners.
Lot 90 is a filly by Visionaire from the same family as 3yo classic female Icy Air.
Lot 109 – 2nd dam is a sister to Holy Roman Emperor and Milanova.
Lot 131 is a filly by Brave Tin Soldier. The first foal out of Precedent the 7 times stakes winning mare.
