The MDK International Syndicate was conceived by journeyman Grant Knowles of Klawervlei Stud, who commented: “This is an ideal opportunity for ambitious owners to pool their strengths in acquiring top quality runners to be trained by one of the world’s best trainers. The timing is good, we were in a taxi in Hong Kong when Variety Club won the Champions Mile a few months ago when the taxi driver recognized Mike, many others did too. He is a bigger celebrity overseas than he is in his own country!”

CTS Chief Operating Officer Adrian Todd said he is delighted to be working with Mike on this initiative: “Mike is a true ambassador for South Africa and racing in general.”
Mike said: “Global racing is like a village. We want to establish a strong international string to give us representation in the world’s biggest races. I look forward to training for the International Syndicate.”
