GAUTENGERS have inked their stamp of approval on the July in Jozi event. The annual event, in its third year, took place at Turffontein Racecourse this past weekend to accommodate all lovers of fashion and horseracing who couldn’t make it to Greyville Racecourse in Durban.
Takings from the July in Jozi weekend set a new record. The on-course budget for the day was up 25% year on year.
Operations manager Alfie Little said: “The Jozi people have spoken and, without a doubt, July in Jozi is here to stay. Our hospitality packages were sold out days before the event, and on Day Two empty decks which were not pre-booked were quickly snapped up.”
Jozi people braved the chill and came out to play.
The events team ran a best-dressed competition and had lucky draws. Three lucky people walked away with clothing vouchers from Rixon Shop in Illovo totalling R7,000, while the best-dressed prize of a table for 10 at the next racing event we
