A high class field of fifteen three-year-old colts and geldings will line up for the R1 million Gr1 Grand Parade Cape Guineas at Kenilworth on Saturday 21 December.
The champion local pair of Brett Crawford’s Captain America and Joey Ramsden’s Red Ray will take on Mike De Kock’s Graham Beck Stakes winner, Whistle Stop.
But the race does not end there, with Dean Kannmeyer sending out a trio of runners, in a race that he has won more often than he cares to remember.
Kannemeyer’s Capetown Noir registered the rare Guineas / Derby double last year.
The Guineas remains one of the most significant on the racing calendar – cognoscenti accord enduring respect to winners of this great race. Colorado King, Hawaii, Horse Chestnut and Jay Peg went on after their victories to become International legends, whilst champion sires Jet Master and Captain Al established their racing reputations when winning here.
Adams said: “We aim to make it a special family day at Kenilworth Racecourse.”
