MIKE de Kock and three of his leading patrons have purchased two more high quality Group performers from Coolmore, following the stable’s recent acquisition of promising Mars from the world renowned Irish breeding and racing establishment.
Mary and Jessica Slack, along with Michael Javett, have landed three-year-old sprinter-miler Gale Force Ten (headline photo) and three-year-old stayer Flying The Flag. Coolmore’s boss John Magnier will be retaining shares in both runners.
Gale Force Ten, by Oasis Dream from Ronaldsay, by Kirkwall, has raced 13 times for three wins and four places. He’s bagged a Listed feature over 1400m and the Gr 3 Jersey Stakes at Ascot over 1400m. Gale Force Ten also finished sixth in the Gr1 Darley Cup, beaten just over 4 lengths by Lethal Force, with South Africa’s Shea Shea just two lengths ahead of him in fourth.
Flying The Flag.
Flying The Flag is a son of Galileo from the Pivotal mare, Halfway To Heaven. He boasts two wins from eight runs, including the Gr3 International Stakes over 2000m at the Curragh. He wasn’t disgraced in the Investec Derby, finishing 8th of 13 runners behind Ruler Of The World.
Mike commented on Sunday: “We are delighted in having secured the pair of colts and thanks to Coolmore for their continued support. Mary Slack and Michael Javett have both been very supportive of our international ventures this year and we are excited for Jessica Slack, who has taken her first step into buying shares of already raced prospects at this level.”
Gale Force Ten and Flying The Flag will be shipped to Dubai for the 2014 International Racing Carnival and Mike said: “Besides their racing ability and promise for Dubai, both have stallion potential.”

Dont think Coolmore is in the UK, much as we would like it to be.
Great site, looking forward to Dubai.
