THE Tiger Ridge Syndicate is on fire, registering their fourth consecutive win from their last four runners, when Siddhaarth (Marco van Rensburg, photo) won on debut at Turffontein on Saturday.
The run started back on July Day, when Santa Clarita recorded her second win at the big T. Thereafter Capricorn Ridge, a half brother to Met winner Martial Eagle reeled off back to back victories – on debut at Scottsville and then a start to finish winner at Turffontein last Saturday.
Siddhaarth and Capricorn Ridge are closely related, inso far as Aircon, the dam of Siddhaarth is also a half sister to Capricorn Ridge. Aircon was raced by the RMG Syndicate (many of whose members are also part of the TR Syndicate). Members of the TR Syndicate include Mary and Jessica Slack, Suzie McDonald, Peter Sargeant and Gary Westwater.
TRS bought four yearlings last year: two of which have won two races thus far and Siddhaarth his debut. Every race contested by the class of 2012 (yearling class that is), having yielded a stakes cheque! The fourth horse, West Ridge, is still some way off a run. Top price paid was R 280 000 for Capricorn Ridge.
TRS started with a bang, having bought dual listed winner Burmese Cat and stakes placed The Raj in their first foray. It’s been a quiet two years, but the wheel looks have turned and the syndicate will have some fun times ahead.
