March 13, 2013WITH the focus shifting from Dubai to South Africa for a few weeks, the stable had two promising Juvenile winners at Tuesday’s meetings.
Two-year-old colt Full Combat, beaten into second on his 1200m debut, ran on strongly to make amends in another 1200m contest at Greyville.
Full Combat won, full of running.
Lammerskraal-bred Full Combat, ridden by Sean Veale, lost two lengths at the start and Mike de Kock commented: “This was an excellent win considering he was slow off, and it’s good to see Sheikh Hamdan’s run of winners continue.
“Full Combat is by Go Deputy and he’s a horse that should improve over ground, so is one to keep an eye on.”
Mike had similar comments about Magrooma (headline photo), beaten in two starts over 1000m and 1200m respectively, but showing her appreciation for extra ground with an easy win over 1400m at Turffontein under Anthony Delpech.
“Jehan Malherbe and I bought Magrooma for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum in Melbourne,” said Mike. “She was bred by Tony Bott, who is one of Larry Nestadt’s friends. She’s by Dubawi and will also come into her own over a mile and further. She could have a good future.”

What are the chances of having Doug Whyte as a team Jockey with Christophe. I see Jamie Spencer, Murtagh, Moore(GB), Take(Japan) and even the Americans are not pulling any punches on their jockey selectons. I am positive that we clean up on World Cup day. Just MY Thinking.
