ILsanpietro notched the ninth win of his career when he won the Gr2 J&B Stayers (R300,000), on J&B Met Day at Kenilworth on Saturday.
Ilsanpietro (4-1) kept on gamely in this 2800m event to keep Dubai Gina at bay under a good ride from Anthony Delpech. He added the J&B Stayers Trophy to his list of wins which include two Java Handicaps, the Racing Association Handicap and the Aquanaut Handicap.
Ilsanpietro, a six-year-old by Mark Of Esteem, is owned by Paulo Caesar’s Fazenda Mondesir (Brazil). He was saddled by Diane de Kock, who reported last week that he had travelled well and was looking the part.
