SHEIKH Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum’s Australian-bred filly Aneefa raced to a 0.75-length win in a 2000m contest at the Vaal on Tuesday.
Aneefa (yellow silks, nearest camera) captured the merit rated turf race under a hands-and-heels ride from Robbie Fradd, who had their measure fully 450m out and just had to keep her mind on the job going into the final 50m.
“Aneefa is quite talented, she has ability,”said assistant trainer Mathew de Kock of this daughter of Encosta De Lago. “She will be even better over more ground and she will win more races, she has a future,” he added.
Aneefa has won two of five starts and is one for the notebook in events for stayers.
