HONORINE (Aus)scored a 1.75-length debut victory in a Maiden Plate for Fillies and Mares over 1000m at Scottsville on Wednesday, signalling more to come.
The filly by Redoute’s Choice from Zaldivar, by Honour and Glory, took up the lead early showing plenty of pace, and held on easily under Derreck David, who said: “She feels like a very decent filly. She won full of confidence.”
Mike de Kock thanked Mary Slack of Wilgerbosdrift Stud, who owns Honorine, saying: “Mary is a great supporter of the stable and she trusts the judgement of our team. Jehan Malherbe and Dr John McVeigh bought her in Melbourne.”
Mike added: “Honorine is speedy, a big strong filly with a scopy pedigree. She has a future.”
