HERE is the photo finish between Mike de Kock-trained stable companions Atyeb (yellow and blue silks, Anthony Delpech) and Il Sanpietro (Weichong Marwing), in Saturday’s Caradoc Gold Cup over 2850m at Turffontein.

The pair fought an exciting duel and improving Atyeb got the better of Il Sanpietro late in the race, stamping himself as a Gold Cup candidate.

Atyeb, by Rock Of Gibraltar, is owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum.
