MIKE de Kock has accepted to race four contenders in the 2011 Sansui Summer Cup (R2-million), to be run over 2000m at Turffontein on 26 November.

They include Perana, who started favourite for the Victory Moon Stakes but trailed in 34 lengths behind Smanjemanje. Anthony Delpech stays with this Australian-bred gelding.

De Kock also has Ilsanpietro, to be ridden by Weichong Marwing, Rudra (Anton Marcus) and last year’s winner Flirtation (Glen Hatt, headline photo).

Ilsanpietro finished a neck ahead of The Apache in the Victory Moon Stakes and the pair meet again at the same weight differential.

Black Wing ran on well to finish a 3.75-length fifth in the Charity Mile behind Pierre Jourdan and is now 2.5kg better off. Paul Gadsby’s runner is far better suited to the extra 400m of the Summer Cup and should improve on that performance. Sean Cormack takes the ride.

Geoff Woodruff may have been disappointed with Soul Master who ran a five-length fifth in the Victory Moon Stakes, but the Summer Cup is his mission and he is sure to be spot-on at the right time. Felix Coetzee has the right.

Woodruff also has top four-year-old filly Princess Of Light, who will be ridden by Donavan Mansour. She could be good outside value off a light weight of 53.5kg.

Jet Jamboree may have his problems but he is quite capable of winning a race of this nature. Piere Strydom has the ride and they carry a decent weight of 54.5kg.
