RIVER JETEZ has arrived in Chicago for her tilt at Saturday’s 22nd running of the Group 1 Beverly D at Arlington Park.
Mike de Kock reported from his base at Newmarket, UK, on Monday that the globetrotting Singapore Cup runner-up had travelled well and eaten up.
He said: “She left the UK at midday on Friday and spent the night in France. She travelled with a professional groom, the same one that accompanied her from Singapore to the UK in May. She gets uptight, but all went well.”
Mike said that assistant trainer Steven Jell had done a great job in preparing River Jetez at Newmarket.” Trevor Brown has flown from Dubai to Chicago to join the mare and Mike has also commissioned Declan Cronin to jet in from his base in Texas to assist Brown. Mike will arrive in Chicago himself on Wednesday.
“These arrangements are a part of international racing, things don’t just happen by themselves,” Mike added. Christophe Soumillon has been booked for the ride. “River Jetez is very well and we have high hopes for Saturday.”
Eleven fillies and mares will contest the prestigious $500,000 race. Click here for more details.
